You can get rid of stress by practicing some steps striking a yoga pose, breathing deep in controlled manner, drinking more water among other ways. For the deep breathing, you take a deep breath, hold it to a certain count, say ten or five, then exhale to an equal count. This may sound rather odd to some but it has worked for me for years. If you ind you are stressed out, upset &/or angry about something - physical exercise... the more intense the feeling, the more intense the exercise. When I was married to my ex? I found for myself that when things were quite intense (stress or anger that is)... I went out, bought myself a pic ax and began to work on my back yard in an area I intended to turn into a vegetable garden.
At first I could barely lift the thing... by that same summers end of that year? I was swinging it with one hand and had turned not just the one area but my entire back yard became a showplace. I also had been doing some terrific exercise in that my arms, back, legs etc... were in great shape!
Sleep sometimes worked for me, but what helps so much is the Lamaze Breathing Exercises. Close your mouth, breathe into your nose and let out a cleansing breathe w/ your mouth. It's a bit outdated, but it works. Also, getting away from the stress for a period of time also works.
One way that I find really can help is a simple breathing exercise: inhale, slowly, for a count of four; hold your breath for a count of four; exhale, slowly, for a count of four, and, again, hold your breath for a count of four. Repeat as often as you need. Also, there's this guy who does VERY relaxing, calming music. His name is Steven Halpern. Try an album he did, called "Chakra Suite". You can get it on iTunes, and I'm sure you can get it elsewhere. His website is www.stevenhalpern.com
One word. Dance. Dancing is the fastest and one of the best ways to relieve stress. Trust me on this. If you and a few friends have a dance party or you just turn on some music and dance in your room. I was really stressed out last year b/c of all my school work and my friend was having a slumber party. About 12 girls came and just danced most of the time, and it made us all feel so refreshed and relieved. So I speak from experience. Btw, what are you stressed about? Talking to someone about it can also help relieve stress.
All of these responses (there are too many for me to quote individually), provide some means of relaxation, or no help whatsoever, but all I can say is that, you are only 14 years old? Calm down, take a deep breath, and realize that every problem has a solution. Step 1 is to figure out what the problem is. Step 2, ask yourself if there is anything you can do to solve the problem, and if so, act on that notion. Sometimes there is nothing you can do (events are out of your control), in which case worrying or stressing about it will not help, it will only put your health in jeopardy. That is when you turn to simple relaxation techniques (plenty provided in the comments above mine) to perhaps enable you to sleep better and protect your general well being.
1. Avoid stress. either you change the situation you're in or you change your reaction to the situation. 2. Listen to music. Sing (and dance) to it like there's no one listening (or looking). 3. Breathe.Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Put one hand on your abdomen and another one on your chest. Breathe in through your nose (not mouth!) and feel how your hand on the abdomen rises. Keep breathing in until you feel that your lungs are fully filled with air and the hand on your chest has risen. Breathe out gently through your nose or mouth. Repeat 3. to 5. until you're relaxed. 4. Sleep 5. Eat chocolate (or have sex). 6. Be altruistic. 7. Do some exercise. 8. Get together with your friends. 9. Meditate. 10. Last, but not least, smile and laugh. A lot.

One way is just to do what you love to do! Go have fun. Also, you could make a craft that requires smashing something, like mosaics (you have to smash shells, tiles, ect.). Another craft you could do is splatter painting. It doesn't require much concentration. That always helps. I've heard that going for walks every day and eating right relieves stress. Good luck!
