Don't. After doing informal internet research, I tried it, and I think my cat is dead. I don't know for sure because he ran up under the house. I put it on him around noon, he acted a little strange that night, in the morning, I let him out to play as I always do. I saw him around noon that day, (a full 24 hours later) and by that time, his pupils were really big and he was really acting weird, and when I tried to pet him, he screamed like I hurt him and ran under the house.
I can not get him out, so I can not wash it off him, I can not even see him under there he has crawled so far back. (Its only about 4 inches off the ground way in the back) I don't know, but I really think he has died.
I don't know if he just had a bad reaction to fipronil, (the symptoms he was showing are called "hyperesthesia" I have found out which is an adverse reaction listed for fipronil, and it was his first time with that chemical, he had used Advantage before) or if its because of the dog Pet Armour on him. It isn't worth finding out, if you ask me. The manufacturer may well have another unlisted ingredient in there that is fatal to cats.
Yes, you can give Pet Armor for dogs to your cats. The active ingredient that is contained in the dog formula for killing fleas is the same one that works in cats. However, it is advisable to use each product on particular pet animal as stipulated. See details on http://www.petarmor.com/works/how_it_works.php.
I went out today and bought petarmor. I've been doing a lot of research to see what others have been saying. I do believe it would be in my cats best interest to return this product. Do I really want to take a chance on my cats dying? Nope.
No, I bought PrArmorProAdvanced on Friday and treated my dog. He was a little sleepy on Saturday and I thought he was being lazy. Sunday we went to the dog park for about 2 hours. He was very tired and crashed out. Also, he was constantly licking his right paw. I thought maybe something bothered his paw from the dog park. Still, he was acting weird. Monday morning he refused to go outside and take care of business. Finally, at 1 PM my son tricked Buddy into going outside. He slept all day Monday, refused to go out later, was very lethargic and licking at air. Now I'm very concerned about Buddy's health. After reading several reviews of pet health issues and deaths after using this product; I immediately returned the product to Walmart and purchased some regular blue Dawn dish washing soap and bathed him. I would not recommend using product that does not fully disclose all ingredients. This product compares itself to Frontline only with the active ingredients being similar..no disclosure about the remaining 75% of inactive ingredients.....pesticides!
