How do you get rid of sunburn?

Well, I don't have it but when I do I need to know how to get rid of it.

You should drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is key, you may become sun sick after getting a severe burn, you may need to rest a few days as well. As for the actual burn, try taking a milk bath in luke warm water. The milk helps protect the skin and takes some of the pain and swelling out of your skin. Aloe vera also helps, avoid products that have alcohol in them and soon the burn will ease away. The best advice though is prevent the burn, use proper sun screen and apply regularly. Get the fake n bake, you skin will thank you in the long run.

You can try to not get it by using sunscreen, but if you have sunburn aloe vera gel can relive the sting and it should go away within at least 1 day

It has to go away on its own---but you can lessen your discomfort by taking cool showers versus hot ones and applying a thin layer of aloe vera onto the skin. Try to avoid sunburn at any costs! It can lead to cancer later in life.

You can't really do much after you get it. The way to prevent it is to put on the right type of sunblock and if you get it. Wait for it to peel off your skin and you'll feel better. If it is on your back you'll get a bad itch. Don't itch it.

Vinegar can take the sting out and turn you brown fast, but you stink. A product called Aloe 99 is available at Walgreens, and works well. Absolute best is aloe straight from an aloe plant. However, it's gooey, so clothes / sheets will stick to you. Getting that off your skin can be agony because you'll peel some of your skin with it. Ouch! Been there, done that.

Well, once you get a sunburn there is nothing you can do to make it go away. Your skin has been damaged by the harmful U.V rays and needs to heal by itself. The length of the healing process depends on how bad the sunburn is. You can always help soothe and speed up the healing process by putting aloe spray(or just plain aloe) on the burn.

Open a vitamin E capsule and spread it on your skin. I tried this on my right shoulder leaving the left shoulder untreated except for a thumbprint of vitamin E on the left shoulder. The next morning the redness and sensitivity on the vitamin E applied right shoulder was greatly reduced. The thumbprint, on the middle of my still red untreated left shoulder, showed the same reduced-redness results. Needless to say I immediately used vitamin E on my red, left shoulder.

to get rid of sunburn you should apply pure aloe Vera to the area that you have sunburn. when you buy aloe gel you should make sure that there is no artificial coloring or scents in it. after applying it on a few times, it will feel much better and heal probably within a day or two. it might take longer to heal depending on how bad your sunburn is. apply the gel about three times a day. once in the morning, once at night, and once before you go to bed. make sure that you some what rub the gel in.

The most effective thing I have found is the essential oil Lavender. I worked out in the yard for a number of hours, and hadn't realized that I was getting a nice burn on my back. I put some Lavender on it, and the next day all the redness was gone. A day after that, it was like I had never been burned. You can buy essential oils from DoTerra at https://www.iact1.com/doterra/ShoppingCart/Shop.cfm?pid=71846782249576002

DoTerra provides the purest essential oils, so it is the most expensive. You can also buy from Butterfly and Ananda. All of these are online companies.

The secret is prevention. Get out of the sun as soon as your for arms start to redden. Stay clear of lotions they cause skin cancers and other problems. It is impossible to get sun burn before mid June and by getting a lot of sun before than you increase how long you can stay out in the sun until the skin reddens. Covering up a lot and then going to the beach is very bad whereas the body gets Vitamin D from the sun. It is myth that the sun causes skin cancer, the burning does.See Dr. Sears at http://www.rense.com/general75/uv.htm

You cannot "get rid of it" but a great way to help cure it is to :
1)obtain a aloe plant
2)cut off a thick limb(doesn't have to be long necessarily)
3)cut open the limb and rub the gooey part against the affected area
sunburn gone and feeling better in a couple of days :)

You should use Aloe-Vera generously, and try not to let the sunburn be exposed. You can't get rid of one really, but you can at least help it recover. Also put on sunscreen next time to help prevent it.

You have to prevent sunburn by using sunscreen, no more than 35 spf. Any higher than that and you are just wasting your time. If you want relief from sunburn, the remedy given to me by my indian family which I use and know that it works is to take a hot shower, as hot as you can stand it. When you are done showering, dab your body with vinegar and let yourself air dry. This should help take out the burn and most likely prevent peeling depending on severity of the burn. You may have to do it more than once. Best of Luck!!
