For the past 9 yrs I've been paying my mortgage bi-weekly, now I'm told that it's illegal to do that, is that true?

I don't know who told you it's illegal, but I can tell you it's not. As a matter of fact, most banks or financial institutions that grant mortgages advise you to buy into a biweekly payment plan; if it was illegal, they wouldn't be recommending it.

Why would anything be illegal to "pay" into something, like a mortgage? That just dose not make any sense to me.
