My skin around my lips is severely chapped. It's red and irritated. I've tried everything I can think of, but it isn't getting any better.

You need to hold a piece of cloth dipped in warm water over your lips until it cools. You should then wring out the water in the piece of cloth and rub it across your lips to get rid of dead skin. Apply some thin coat of petroleum jelly and take lots of water. Check out http://www.livestrong.com/article/328947-chapped-cracked-lips-that-do-not-heal/ for more information.

Get some bacitracin and rub it on your lips, this should clear it up.

Put chapstick (not the ones with flavor, the type I use when my lips or around my lips is chapped is, Burt's Bees Beeswaz Lip Balm, it might sting alot at first but it works really well) on where it's really red or chapped, even it's around your lips. Also this means that you might have not been drinking enough water, or eating lots of fruits and veggies (lol veggies ^.^)
Hope I helped! :)

I suggest seeing a doctor to eliminate the possibility of an underlying health issue. Sometimes a food allergy can cause the problem you disrobe along with a host of other possibilities. When you have exhausted all the solutions you know for a physical problem , your doctor should be consulted.
