What is the difference btw "censure" and "reprimand"? Aren't they both official criticism? Is it a matter of gravity and levity?

They are synonyms. 'Censure' is used mainly in formal situations to mean 'reprimand' or 'criticize'.
Other synonyms include 'rebuke', 'scold' and 'criticize'. Censure means harsh criticism or disapproval, the state of being excommunicated, while reprimand as verb means, rebuke formally.

I think, as a political term, censure is considered to have more gravity than reprimand.
