Is it good to workout before or after eating?

Though many athletes eat before training, some scientists say that if you really want to get rid of more fat, you should skip the pre-workout snack. Several studies suggest exercising while your body is low on food may be a good way to trim excess fat. In a recent paper, European researchers found that cyclists who trained without eating burned significantly more fat than their counterparts who ate.

You should eat a light snack (like an apple) before working out, then finish your breakfast afterwards.

If you eat at least 3 well balanced meals a day, you would see more results if you workout in the mornings. In fact, your metabolism would increase. Also I would recommend consuming cold beverages after workouts because the stomach will work harder in warming up the fluids, therefore you would burn more calories. For beverages I would recommend cold water, if your workouts are extensive- cold low calorie Gatorade.

Many people say to eat before working out, thou I have found, I don't enjoy working out after I have eaten. If you're really hungry I'd suggest something light and small, like maybe a banana, or a smoothie! I usually eat after working out thou! good luck!

It depends on your circumstances. I work out for general health purposes but I am also a diabetic. I used to work out every afternoon but it seemed to mess with my blood sugar numbers too much. Over the past few years I've found that splitting my workout in two (afternoon and evening) gives me the same amount of exercise and levels my blood sugar as well.
