How do I close out an email account when someone has died?

My best friend passed away and his parents and I are trying to close out his email accounts and do not know passwords to get in.

If you can get into the account- you might consider putting a 'Forward' on the account or even setting-up a 'Vacation Response' that provides minimum information for any personal email. Sorry for your loss, but good question.

Usually, there is an option to click, labeled close my account. When you click it, you will normally be warned that all of the information will be lost once the process is complete and you'll be asked for confirmation. When you confirm, the email account will be closed.

sorry for your loss. you should be able to contact the help centre of the website and confirm with them the cancellation of your friends account.
