Why are you referring to "your baby" as "it"? This sounds as though there's a lack of bonding between you & your child...... Which leads back to the comment from sheilawangui.....what's the reason for you not being at the hospital with your child?
This will depend with whatever reasons that are keeping you off the baby. If it's because of other commitments, then you can let your close relative or friend be with the baby. If it's because of the hospital rules, then you just be optimistic about its recovery.
Give 'it' up for adoption in another family because you have not bonded with the baby and are not present during a health event that is likely considered an emergency. In normal parenting, if a baby is hospitalized, absolutely nothing would prevent the parent from being at the hospital to comfort the baby and learn from staff how to care for him or her. Exceptions: hospitalization of the parent elsewhere; incarceration; arrest and detainment, etc. Why aren't you there? Bus schedule problems?
