What are the key things to turn browsers into buyers?

A salesperson that knows their products, and those of their competitors, and can articulate that to a prospective customer.

Make sure you greet them, sales and discounts always help. Maybe a decent discount for new buyers.

Ok - this is just from my perspective as a long-time salesman.

(1) first one is free. If your product is good, they'll come back and avoid the trash on the west side.

(2) make sure you talk up your product, be clear that what they want is what you got. Even challenge them like "you've never used stuff this good, you won't know what hit you."

(3) what's for the customers is for the customers. Don't dip into your own supply for yourself unless you've made back your money (minus kick-up fees and anything the locals squeeze out of you).
