How long is a dog considered a puppy?

Report as

It actually depends on what breed of a dog you have since different dogs mature at different rates. For example a retriever is considered an adult dog when it reaches two years of age. For more information visit: http://www.takingcareofapuppy.com/when-is-a-puppy-fully-grown.html.

I consider a dog a puppy until they are fully grown. I would figure about two years.

Clemence is right; large-breed dogs take longer to mature. A Great Dane isn't considered full grown until it's 3 years old.
