The tundra is considered to be the coldest of the biomes. It is located in Antarctica, northern Russia and on the tops of mountains. The only plants that live in the tundra are ones that can live on bare rock or in thin soil. In spring, the tundra plants grow quickly and bright wildflowers spread across the ground. Below the ice and snow, the soil in Tundra is actually is frozen. Some of the flowers that grow there are saxifrages, fireweeds, cinquefoil, louseworts and stonecrops.
