What type of fossil fuel is coal?

i need this for my review for science i don't remeber what the answer is can anybody help me please??

Coal is a mineral of fossilized carbon. The harder forms of coal like anthracite coal can be regarded as metamorphic rock because of later exposure to elevated temperature and pressure. The main composition of coal is carbon, along with other elements like hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen.
