No actually her parents know what's best for her more than she does. At her age her brain isn't fully developed yet so she doesn't understand the implications of bypassing an education to become a "world famous dancer", but her patents do.

We all need to take a risk. I say take the risk.

Just be like, "Wow, wouldn't it be awesome to be a pro dancer? Like on TV! You'd be exercising AND you'd get fans. What a fun job...that's what I wanna be when I grow-up...". Then maybe they'll see how much you care about it and give you a chance.

They just know how hard it is to get far into the entertainment industry so they want you to have a backup to fall back on while you can still pursuit your dream

It's a difficult decision because they will be paying for your education. If you're good at it study law but when you open your practice you may advertise as the "Dancing Lawyer"

Do what you aspire to do not what your parents want you to do. I did NOT want to be a teacher. Here I am yrs. later...I'd rather be anything else but I have no other skills.

Please don't think of yourself as having failed in life Patriciashoup. A teacher takes one mind at a time and can transform it to make miracles happen. Einstein had a teacher, Madam Curie did, so did the Wright Brothers... My favorite person Nelson Mandela had a teacher. Just your writing style shows that you are probably very good at it.

Well do something big. If they want you to be something you don't ask them and say, "did your parents let you do want you wanted to do?" and then before they can answer run away fake crying and lock yourself in you room. That or just say,"I DON'T WANT TO BE THAT STUFF! I WANT TO BE A DANCER!" and see what they say to that. Or just just join ABDC.

As most people who's passion became their job will tell you, it is a long hard road to make a living at it and you've still got to eat and maintain yourself along the way, so you had better have something to fall back on when times get tough. Get a college degree, BA, even at a community college or online college but keep doing your passion as well. Take whatever courses you need to get yourself somewhere because you may also need to work at something that pays well to finance your passion and your life, unless your parents are going to keep you financially in the meantime which i doubt. I think even your parents would agree that you can " have your cake and eat it too" as the expression goes and could live with this compromise, as could you.

Can you guarantee you'll become a "world famous" dancer? Singers and actors become world famous, but dancers, not so much.

Make sure you have something to fall back on. Get an education. Listen to your parents, they know what they're talking about.

If I were u I would tell them the truth & if they still want u to go to college go don't fight them they usually know best besides then if ur dance career doesn't kick off u can still do what ever u went to college to do

If U really believe... then do what a wise adult would. construct a "Plan".A well thought out specific reasonable goals, steps on how u will reach/achieve those goals. And seek & welcome help, advice, perspective and so on and weigh it all out. Then U have something going on a Show level rather than a verbal 1. That shows responsibility,& maturity ! There's ways of doing but that,s what i think a shrewd/ sharp person would start with/ . The research/investigation on ur part will give u a plan "B" 4 back up.G.L!

You can tell them what you want, and they can tell you what they want for you, but in the end it'll be all about being of age at 18.
