Could a sponge live forever if it wasn't disturbed in any way?

That is, no animals, rough waters, or humans - just food for it to eat.

I don't think a sponge can live forever, everything has a life span and at some point in life it will have to die even if it is well taken care of. With good care it can stay up little longer.
