My 97 Chevy v-6 truck shuts off and then hard to start and it also skips whats wrong

dont know whats wrong can anyone help

I had a similar problem with my 96 f150. What I did was take out all my O2 sensors and cleaned them up with brake cleaner and I took off my mass air flow sensor and cleaned it with mass air flow sensor cleaner. It could be the fuel filter for sure if hasn't been changed in a wile I change mine at least once a year so I don't have to worry about it. So start with the fuel filter and if it still acts up try what I said.

Oh, heck yeah.... Hunter I wasn't thinking bout O2 sensors .... I'll bet you're right on the mark!!!

Yea after I cleaned them and my mass airflow sensor it has been runnin smooth ever sence. Thanks for the comment.

Could be a number of things, check the easy ones first, coil, plugs, FUEL FILTER, ... oh and the skipping...I dunno, maybe it's happy?! seriously, start off with the fuel filter. I'll keep pondering on this, if I come up with any other ideas I'll let you know.
