Can cats die from eating human food and not cat food?

i have a cat and i feed it sometimes like chicken that...

...Humans Die Every Day from eating their Own Food...Why Lower the Cat's Life-Span by giving it our Lousy Food? You want your Cat to live a Long Life?...Include a little Canned Food 2-3 Times a week...but Smell it First! Any Bad Oders...Toss it.In processing,It can Sit too long.And a Common Death for Cats is Caused by People Not Knowing that the Indoor Cat Must get "Urinary Tract Infection Fighting" Dry Cat Food...on the Side...as a Choice side-dish.My neighbor just Killed his Cat because he didn't Know this...and we are Really Mad at him.That little black and white cat Really Suffered.Westie.

Cats cannot die from eating human food and not the cat food. Cats can feed on anything that a human can feed on especially meat. However, it is not advisable to give them human food except for very special treats as they need a special balanced diet for proper growth.

You can feed your cat human food, but you cannot feed it chocolate, anything with sugar in it or onions and nothing that has citrus

Some foods , yes. Anything with caffeine, or chocolate can cause irregular heart rhythms or seizures which can lead to death. here is a link to the ASPCA website that has a list of common people foods that can make your cat very sick or kill it. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/people-foods.aspx
