What makes people think someone's smart?

Demeanor, dress, behavior, etc. I'm asking this because everyone thinks I'm really smart and I honestly have no idea why. I don't say this to brag, I genuinely have no idea why people think that. Like apparently I'm thought of as one of the smartest people in school, (I get called stuff like that by people, whenever someone gets the best test score in class, nearly the whole class guesses it's me aloud, and we're in Pre-IB) but my grades aren't the best(I get A's but B's sometimes slip in), I sleep sometimes in class(I'm not sure if anyone notices), and I'm not a really serious person. Can someone please clarify why to me or at least help?

Well, using words like "demeanor" isn't usual for a young person. So you are smart. Your mode of dress and language will reflect your intelligence no matter how you try to hide it. Are you questioning your intelligence versus grades? Grades really aren't always the best judge of anything really. Maybe your school isn't challenging enough for you.

People will always regard someone as being smart through his thinking prowess or capacity, performance in school or academic forums, speech or word usage and the articulation of ideas. It can also be viewed in the way you help others and your perception on various matters.
