Hippies in the 60s started protesting against the "status quo" meaning the typical way of doing things. A major issue that they protested against was the Viet Nam war and the fact that our boys were being used to pursue an unwinnable situation for purely political reasons. For all the crap that they took so long ago it seems that they were right after all.
Protesting is perfectly fine and I'm glad we can do it in the U.S. Though the hippy movement protested things they didn't know much about. Regarding all the subjective things, I thought they were pretty ridiculous. Though their music was good.
I think its ok, I do feel mean about any boy who dresses in bright colors, is happy, and has one earing is called a hippy. protesting is not against the law, I think its fine, unless there protesting something bad in front of younger kids. hippies are fine with me, they no alot about what there protesting about, unlike ordinary people.
I'm impartial to hippies, however anyone who protests and stands up for what they believe in like that deserves reverence. Protesting is a right allotted to all Americans, and we should be thankful for the opportunities to do so. In other countries you can be jailed for such public displays.
