How to get more mbps out of your router

I guess you're using either 802.11b or g equipment, which transmission rate is caped at 11mbps and 54mbps. It's impossible to beat the hardware limit, and most often your devices can't really touch the capped speed event the top-tier manufacturer.

And most often it's the WiFi lan card problem, not the router. most router is 802.11g today, make sure your lan card is g too.
