Why do some people burn their hair instead of throwing it away

Because hair contains DNA, some people are afraid of what others may do with it. Because of this, they would rather burn it, thus destroying the DNA.

Only hair roots contain DNA. The parts you cut off (e.g., when you get a haircut) are simply made up of keratin protein, nothing else. Dandruff is more likely to contain DNA than snipped hair.
