Would you approve of your wife letting her ex husband sleepover a week to spend time with child, while you are out of town?

My wife acts as if I am the only person in the world that would have a problem with this.I tend to think you just dont put yourself in that postion, period. Out of respect for your spouse, your kids and family home.

You have to know how good the relationship is between your wife and her ex and you have to have a good relationship with your wife aswell. Also have to trust her too.

Maybe you should be IN town, or just have the kids over, or O HELL NO!, or just decide you have a good relationship. Go with what you feel, why are you asking us when you should be asking your heart... Dammit! I'm going into counselor mode, when I'm not even a counselor for real.

It depends on the trust in your relationship with her. And on the relationship between them.

I don't know why no one seems to ever think of the children who are stuck between their selfish and thoughtless parents, but here it is:

Regardless of what is going on between the three adults, it would be extremely cruel to the children of that marriage. The last thing the children need is to be together with Mom and Dad under the same roof again, because they might start to think in their innocent hearts that their parents are getting back together. This is the heart's dream of almost all children of divorce, and it would be cruel to feed that dream when it's just not going to happen. Tell her absolutely NOT!

It depends on what type of relationship that you guys have with him and the trust factor in your relationship with your wife. My ex and I can't do this because he has boundary issues and though we've both remarried he thinks it ok to still make a play for my attention. I try not to deal with mine face to face except through emails or text messaging. But, if you have an ex like Bruce Willis, is with his ex Demi and their relationship, that would Have been great for the children. Since it's not, go with your gut and tell your wife that you are uncomfortable with the idea of him being in your house in your absence.

it depends on the situation: if you have a big enough home to house the children comfortably, they can get on the school bus if needed, and there is plenty to do then there is no need to sleepover at the exs home. Out of respect for yourself and your partner (if you have one) utilize your own home. But if there is not enough space for the children, then you need to sleep over the exs place. I say this because some people have teeny tiny one bedroom apartments and cannot fit 3 kids comfortably and cannot afford to move at the moment and get a bigger better place. Until then, you do what you need to-to take care of business.

That sounds very suspicious. I would not let her do this sounds like she might be having an affair with her ex. Why can't the kid stay at his/her dads house

I agree with everybody, the whole thing's suspicious. Honestly I don't trust her just knowing she would even ask. I'd ask her what the hell's wrong with a motel and what the hell did she smoke to make you think it'd be okay...
