Hi! The umbilical cord was how you were connected to your mom. She did everything for you through that cord. Ate, peed, pooped, gave you oxygen etc. While you were swimming in her womb, that cord was really important to you and her. You came out 16 years ago and took your first breath on your own, your mom's placenta, or inner womb, the umbilical cord, and of course the star of the show, YOU! Even if you were born in the forest, all of the things came with you. After 16 years, I'm sure it would have dried up, fallen off, or been rubbed off by your pants! You may be confusing "belly button lint," with the umbilical cord. Gently take a q-tip, or some something soft, moisten it and GENTLY clean your button! Have a nice night! Be careful and don't push in too hard. It hurts! Take Care.
