What is [3/4x-3]=9?home work help!!!

show steps explain

Report as

3/4x-3=9
+3 +3 ( add three to get rid of the -3, so you do it to the nine as well.
3/4x=12
3/4 times 4/3 ( do this to get rid of the 3/4, you just multiply the reciprocal and it will cancel to one)

4/3 times 9 ( Because you multiplied 4/3 on the other side)
x=16

3/4 times 16-3=9

Hope that helped I know it is kind of confusing on the computer :)

3/4x - 3 = 9?

You have to bring the 3 over to the right hand side(rhs), then you will get 3/4x = 9+3 correct? then, remembering that you have to place variables at one side and numbers at the other side. so, 3/4x = 12, then, it becomes 1/4 = 4x . finally, you will get to this answer, 1/16 as the answer. good luck in algebra! algebra problems are interesting!

It depends entirely on where you think the x goes.

I'm guessing that says (3/4)x, not 3/(4x). Right?
multiply both sides by 4/3
