the way I deal with it is to understand what worsens it and either work around it or accept that it will make it worse and control it with pills and rest. accept you will always be in pain and make up your mind that you will try to not take meds unless you have to. you have to allow a certain amount of pain so you don't get strung out on your pain meds.
