When changing the spark plugs and wires you might have put the wires onto the wrong plugs or wrong spots on distribution cap. It could cause the plug firing to not be in synch with the corresponding cylinder

the engine run fine after replacing coil - wires and dist. the problem started a few months after replacing the afford mention. The engine started hesitating, and loosing power. Then it just would not start. Change fuel filter and pump. Run well for a few days. Now it just turns over but it will not start.

Could it be possible that the gap on the plugs wasn't right. Or an angry ex dumped something into the gas.

I think that the problem could be the sparks hence making the fuel not to get to the cylinder. It could also be due to the poor connection between the fuse and the fuse clips or maybe a leak in the fuel line. Try diagnosing your car and getting possible solutions from the mechanic.
