You will need to pick something your interested in and have a strong opinion about. In high school I did one on why the United States should make English its official language. In college I did one on why I support gun rights. In a college English class I wrote an argument on why global warming is not man made or just a myth. Other possibilities are immigration, environment, abortion, or even one about the president or who we should elect next.

Teachers being payed more for working with kids who act stupid and for raising the future, if the school should have uniforms, why soda should be allowed in school, why animal abuse laws should be more strict (see justice for animals sites. There are little live baby chickens who are boiled alive and get acid put in their beaks. They are also thrown into cramped cages and are dumped by conveyor belts. There are also cat fish who are skinned alive!!!!!!!), Why it should be illegal to have late abortion (they wait for the baby to be born, then while it is still alive, they pull its brain out of its nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) )) : All those are possible arguments. Hope my and other's answers help(ed)!!!!!!
Oh I remember doing this in my year 8 English class when I was 12 I did mine on a completely made up target ( quite easy to ) about ants and their survival In a struggle to get food and I did some false calculations and other things and the persuasive part was getting people to feed ants with jelly beans. Any way I got top marks and every one loved it but be prepared for questions and prepare obvious 3 questions and their answers
