What are good tricks to help me fall asleep faster?

I always take at least 30 minutes to fall asleep and when that happens i dont sleep good the whole night im either tossing or turning,

If you want to calm down, try listening to the rain. There are apps on iPhone and iPods.
If that doesn't work just think of a color. A solid color. Nothing else. And don't let your mind wander. It should work.

The best way to fall asleep faster is by first paying attention to what you eat, don't exercise a few hours before sleep, reduce on your stress levels and establish a bed time routine. You can also get rid of any distraction around the bedroom, avoid coffee and turn the lights off.

Lay with an ice cold compress behind your neck. It will also help you sleep more sound.

If i cant fall asleep, I count backward from 300 by 3s....300,297,294,291, etc. Your mind is so focused on figuring out what number comes next that it blocks out the racing thoughts.

As for the tossing and turning... it could be your pillow, if it's flattening during the night and/or neck isn't aligned with your spine. I tossed and turned constantly until I found a pillow that was the right size and didn't flatten out.

Try valerian root. You can buy it from GNC. There are a lot of other supplements, but I would recommend this one first. Also, you could try tea with passionflower, chamomile, or lavender.

Relax one body part at a time. Each toe, ball of foot, arch of foot, heels, shins, calves, knees, etc... working your way up to your head.

My aerobics teacher used to have us do this after workouts, but she talked us through it (like meditation or something), and I would always fall asleep.

Dont lay down till your absolutely exhausted. A glass a wine helps also.

Off the light and never try to think maybe darkness is the good way to sleep good and quick but sometimes thinks destroys the sleepness and make confused

Don't eat at all for three hours before you sleep. I find that having a fan or an AC unit turned on high helps me sleep, and I also sleep better when it's cold. Some people are just the opposite.

I usually watch t.v. and then I fall asleep and u might want to get a better pillow get a more softer one or a harder one its your point of view!

I read before bed, it helps me relax and eventually your eyes get droopy and you'll fall asleep.

You can do as I do, reading, or i sometimes can just imagine something happenening while my eyes are closed
ie: you can imagine an apple tree growing and an apple falling, causing a chain reaction or something :)

Just clear your mind of all thoughts and relax all of you body. Also, don't think about falling asleep, it keeps you awake. Lastly, don't do anything to stain your body before you fall asleep (examples: exercise, critical thinking, video games, ect.). If it's noise that is keeping you up then do something to minimize the sound like earplugs. You won't even notice that your asleep till you wake up in the morning. :)

on a napkin put some vanilla extract and then put it near your nose not to near finally you will start falling asleep that work for me;]

First,think happy and calm thoughts,next,watch,listen to,or read about something that makes you feel safe, and content. Finlay,scream into your pillow. It really makes you sleepy. You can do it in a different order if you like, i dont care. I used to be a rough sleeper too. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :}

Try eating oatmeal or plain popcorn. They help you fall asleep better because they are high in... I wanna say carbohydrates...But, yea, hope this helps! :)

I am under the cure process too. I need to be hugged and quiet so can I get into sleep. Recently I tried some royal jelly(better than honey), that helps me a lot.

Couple of tips. Get a lot of exercise but no heavy workouts 2-3 hours before bedtime, eat small meals during the day, avoid salty snacks 4 hours before bedtime, have a sweet treat like cookies and milk or decaf tea before bed, watch a quiet program or read 1/2 hour before bed. Meditate or your choice of spiritual contact as you hit the pillow. Good Night and Pleasant Dreams!

I've learned that listening to soft and light music helps me get to sleep. If it doesn't a warm cup of chamomile tea does the trick.

1. Put on an eye mask. Eliminating all light is the most important things you can do to fall asleep and stay asleep. Light not only inhibits the production of sleep hormones, but also stimulates the body to feel awake and alert.
2. Get in the right sleeping position. The best way to do this is to sleep on your side with your head elevated or on your back; sleeping on your stomach requires you to twist your neck to one side and/or up, which is tiring for the neck and spine. Adjust your pillow(s) so that your neck is in a straight line, not crunched to one side or another. If necessary, position a pillow between your knees to keep your hips in a neutral position. It may help to sleep with a body pillow.
3. Drink a glass of milk can help you fall asleep faster.
4. A good mattress is necessary if you want to sleep well. For example, pocket spring mattress is a good kind and you can buy them online if necessary. You can see some here http://www.thespringmattress.com/ProductsType/Individual-Pocket-Spring-Mattress.htm or on other sites selling mattresses.

Think of the best place you could ever dream of and go there, it does not need to be real. I think of a large sailing vessel that's anchored in a lagoon and the interior of the ship is polished wood and I walk the deck inspecting everything while the soft sea breeze plays in my hair while the gulls scream in the distance. At first you'll be busy exploring but each night go there, soon you will only need to think of your favorite place and dreamland will be yours.
