There's 2 types viral & bacterial.symptoms associated with viral pink eye include water eye discharge, swollen eyelids and cold-like symptoms. Viral pink eye can also cause pain when looking at bright lights.Staphylococci and Streptococci are two common bacterial causes of pink eye. Symptoms of bacterial pink eye include eye pain, redness, swelling and often your eye or eyes will have a yellow or even a greenish tearing --when i had it it felt like someone had kicked me in my eye-like a bad bruise
When you have pink eye, you eye is stuck shut when you wake up in the morning, with uncomfortable thick yellow discharge. One experiences inflammation and a burning session in the affected eye. You will also feel as if the eye has sand particles in it, which is often so uncomfortable. See http://www.webmd.com/eye-health/pinkeye.
