How can I become a nicer person?

It's really hard, I always try and be my nicest but then I do something bad. Basically, all my friends are really mean and judgemental. I hang out with the more 'popular' people in my year so they're always picking on people. I always defend the random people my friends pick on and tell them to stop being mean but they just ignore me. I feel that if I defend the people they pick on and don't live up to the reputation of a bully, my friends won't like me. I've already lost friends because I told them how slack they are. So is there anyway I can be a nice person without having to tease people and still have my friends? Thanks.

Change your way of thinking and it seems your friends aren't really friends popularity will mean nothing in the future and how many of them if at all for fact will be there? I became very ill and my friends showed their true colours so before you think they'll be there think again. I was pretty shocked myself when I saw who my real friends were.

Popular kids often (sometimes!) make the worst friends, hang out with the less popular kids sometimes to, I hang out with the more popular kids normally but some of them are complete **** *** ********

I have less popular friends. And I do hang around them sometimes, but then my popular friends are always like "why are you hanging out with them? rar rar rar" and it's just like shut up. So I usually always hang out with my popular friends.

Oh yeah cool! I live in a small town called Batemans Bay. Its in NSW and is about 2 hours away from Canberra. Is Melbourne good? (:

Yeah it's great:) I live near the city which I love, and the people are great, the infrastructure etc is all amazing, the only thing is the weather is completely ****** up I swear theirs 4 seasons everyday, how's nsw?:)

It's freezing here. I hate winter! I wish it was summer so I could just go to the beach. (:

Yeah I know summers the best;) down here summers anything from 20-38 degrees but winters anything from 5-25 it's really annoying cos it changed during the day as well I love the beach especially ones with really big waves:) do you surf or anything?
