When weeding, got rid of weeds but the weeds produced heat. Why?

Why would a plant produce heat?

Report as

Plants are alive. Not the same way people and animals are but they are alive and they have cells that produce a type of energy and energy is heat. Only a very small amount of heat tho. Its more likely it was mostly absorbed heat from the sun.

The heat may be as a result of the sun's heating effect on the ground surface. Plants are also considered to be living things; thus, they will produce lots of heat during their metabolic processes.
