Starfox 2. Is Miyu a boy or girl?

Think about it before you just say girl. Where does it say that Miyu is a girl? There is no description of the character anywhere. No books, profiles, guides, nothing. I've looked everywhere and the only questions ever raised about this character is "Will Miyu ever return to the series?". I don't just want some answer of "Miyu is a girl" with no link or anything backing it up. How do you know Miyu wasn't suppose to be a flamboyant guy? Maybe even a ladies man like Panther? Just a thought that was raised in my head. Anyone have answers?

I think Miyu in StarFox 2 is a girl, basically because this is a name that is only given to females according to the Japanese culture. The name actually means "Beautiful Moon" and is borne by a number of real people.

Well I do agree its a girl's name. But that kinda goes toward "flamboyant" as well. Like, just as a big character that's like a giant can be named "Tiny". Not sure if that is a good example, but that's just my thoughts on it.

Nintendo Power Magazine, issue 69, page 108. I quote:

"There are two new characters, a sheep and a lynx, both female pilots."

The sheep was later replaced with Fay, but Miyu was clearly pictured.
