What is love?

What is love? In your heart&mind, what is love? How do you know that you love someone or something? Or if someone or something loves you? I just can't figure it out and I'd really like getting answers, and please, not silly ones like "you'll know when you grow up"*"Love is something you can't live without" .
Sorry, I can't read into these kind of answers...

Love is that feeling in the pit of your stomach that says you miss that person when they are gone, that you think about them when they're not with you, love is you don't want to be without them!

Love can be from your mom, dad, sister, brother or even a boyfriend !
Now, when I hear about love it's about boyfriends and girlfriends & I recently broke up with someone, so the only love I can say is from your family & friends !
