...Not Good...Not Good.Get to Walgreens and Buy some "Homeopathic Pink Eye Remedy" Eye Drops. It is Their Brand and is Great for a Variety of Annoying Eye Infections. I use it for 5 days...every 8 hours, when my Contact Lens gets a Germ on it and an Infection is Trying to get a Foothold. Westie.

No, you have a dog, you have probably been slobbered on or licked maybe even sneezed on. In any case a dogs mouth is said to be very clean much more than our own. As a matter of fact it's much more sanitary because of certain bacteria a dog has in its' saliva although you might not think so "from their butt to your face" sounds nasty and to us it is but if you get a wound let the dog lick it clean it should heal nicely. The contagious part I don't get unless you are afraid you will start spitting in eyes or you will have tear drops of slobber, lol. There is really nothing to catch.
If the dog is rabid or having signs of rabies, it is possible that it may transfer the virus on you. Since the eye is a mucous membrane, and rabies is carried out on the saliva, possibilities are actually high that the virus can be transferred.
