The precise rules of volleyball are ultimately left up to the governing body. In some settings like high school or recreational competition, kicking the volleyball may be allowed. However, a general rule in professional level competition is that any contact below the waist is prohibited.
I am with Cutielynn here, the rules are to be set by where the game is played. I have been in a game where a dude made an INSANE save with his foot and it was all good. And now I wanna know if you can use your head as well??
yes...you can...that is not penalty...The rules in volleyball tells that you can play with your arms and hand...but nothing like leg is forbiden...so...i consider that like >legal loophole<..what you can't use is something like external equipment(bat, stick, other stuff to bounce ball back)...so you can use legs but, it will be difficult to control ball...
I've played volleyball for 5 years, and I have seen girls "kick" the ball. You are not allowed to intentionally kick the ball, but if you can't get to it fast enough with your arms, and you stick your foot out, then it's okay.
