Is there an Ask.com policy about using cuss words?

I'm not asking about whether using cuss words is in good taste or not. I want to know if using them are against an Ask.com policy and could lead to termination of your account. What about using abbreviations? I don't plan on loosing my mind I just want to know if I threw a cuss word in every now and then if I could be shut down.

I don't know why people cuss. But there are words that appear to be bad words but really aren't. For instance, did you know a male donkey is a jackass and a female is a Jenny.

I didn't know about the Jenny but I knew about the jackass. :)

Man! Nafta and I got ripped off!
Report as
Whew...I saw Mary Jo and thought "oh no, I'm wrong and Farmergirl is putting me in my place..." I guess my mom was telling the truth. 8)
Report as
Yup...and a mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse (I have always had a very strong curious streak). And while we're at it.....a male fox is a dog and a female fox is a vixen ;)
Report as
Oh, I like that. Foxy Vixen.
Report as
I am curious as to why Mikale says him and I got ripped off?
Report as
Cuz MJ and I have more thumbs...

OH!!! I thought maybe there were some of our "colorful" comments removed! :)

Hi verona1819,

The best rule of thumb is if you do not hear it on network TV such as ABC, NBC and CBS then it is not allowed on Ask. Answering and asking questions can certainly be done without inserting curse words. :)

I not only agree with shooshie525, but also with Ask policy. The only thing that cuss words do is to lower yourself and the opinions of others regarding you. I understand the occasional slip in everyday life, but when someone takes the time and forethought to actually type out the word, that is not a "slip". There are much better ways of expressing oneself than resorting to gutter-speak.

Hey, mikale... Bang! as in I hit the nail on the head, or Bang! as in I missed the mark so completely I deserve to be shot, lol?
Report as
Damn good answer ;)
Report as
Hey, Mona, thanks, lol! Snarky, with just the right touch of irony!
Report as
that's what I was goin' for....and when Mikale says "Bang!"....I think he means it like: "Bang on!" He is very reputable, but if he was thinking the other way....he would let you know it in no uncertain terms. ;)
Report as
True... I was being snarky, but I'm a bit off my game today. I'll have to let you know why when I'm sure. (Talk about a tease, huh?)
Report as
really??.....and how long do you propose to leave me hanging like this????? C'mon girl....talk to me (lol)

Should have known you would find the answer! I bow to your superior answering skills! I am humbled by your presence. I am unworthy to walk the hallowed halls of Ask with you. Sheesh, this love thing gives you quite the buzz. Funny how I'd forgotten.
Report as
mikale... sheesh, what can I say? Let's just say he's a certain southern gentleman farmer. When he wants to "advance" more, we'll let him.
Report as
I haven't had that buzz in over 20 years....and it's been 7 years since I was last stung!
Report as
Can't wait to get stung again.
Report as
I so did NOT just say that... it must be a virus in Ask!
Report as
now I know why mikale and kuuipo have those flowers.....some days you're the flower and some days you're the bee.....hahahaha (Good thing those two have a room)
Report as
ASK isn't old enough to censor the "birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees...."
Report as
We're pollinating right now...
Report as
Spoiler alert!
Report as
I'm out...sounds like you two really need to be "stung" more often... 8)
Report as
not listening....or reading...la la la la la la la
Report as
Lol... me neither.
Report as
You can't get stung if you don't poke the hive.
Report as
Wishing I hadn't poked just yet...
Report as
step away from the hive....!
Report as
Well, if he's a "gentleman" he won't sting you too quick.
Report as
Come on...just get stung once...
Report as
I'm afraid I already got stung... and not in the fun way.
Report as
8( well, he gets no honey then!

Thank you for responding to my question. I have seen cuss words on Ask.com so I wasn't sure about policy. I admit to using them in everyday life but I had not done so here. I'm glad I asked. You guys have reminded me that it's best to behave when I have complete control to do so.
Report as
Well sometimes we "do" get a little creative...
Report as
Seen it, greened it. Hi Mikale!! :o)
Report as
Oh, you better give Nafta one, they're whining cuz I have more...(I'll take one too if your basket has an extra) ;) (We're hiding from the kids today)
Report as
Thanks Mandy! Kuu, you have enough!!!
Report as
I've seen Nate around although I'm not one of his followers. He's got the same name as my oldest son. :o)
Can't blame ya with the hiding! These kids should write a soap opera!

You're most welcome Maha! I always green ya, and Kuu too! Usually the first thing I do when I get home from work :o)
Report as
You be quiet Mikale. Remember, you're about to go into a dead zone...
Report as
They were nuts yesterday, I felt like my kids were on there...oh well...you off for the weekend now?
Report as
I know what you mean!!
Nope, still have tomorrow to work. Then off till Monday, but might go in over the weekend to get a jump start on graduation cleaning. Never ending...

Cussing is not a necessity, BUT I do LOVE it :) I like how Ask has SORT of helped me to cut down on cussing.

Hey, I get the need for those words every now and then... nothing else seems to fit, you know? Green, of course!
Report as
I don't know how a sailor or a dock worker talks, but I have been told I am one on numerous occasions :)
Report as
Me too, lol... but when you get run down by a 1300 pound steer, "Golly gosh" just doesn't cut it!
Report as
Thank you for responding to my question. I will behave on Ask.com thanks to everyone's advice. I will remain foul mouthed in real life. Sorry. Can't please everyone.
Report as
OMG!! That is an amazing visual :) What the heck :)
Report as
WTF was more MY reaction, lol.
Report as
Oh praise God! I can write WTF!! Sometimes nothing else fits.
Report as
SHHH, I think you can say ass too :)
Report as
I have also seen people saying the "B" word that itches :)
Report as
eliciamarie
yes, you can get away with writing 'bitch' because of it's actual meaning, but if a mod sees it used as a cuss, it gets removed.
Report as
lol! I believe the a and b words are said on network TV. They should be acceptable if absolutly necessary.
Report as
MaryJo...your steer story reminds me of a joke:

Doctor: "Ever had an accident?"
Rancher: "No."
Doctor: "Never had an accident in your whole life?"
Rancher: "Well, last spring I was out in the pasture and a bull tossed me over the fence."
Doctor: "And you don't call that an accident?"
Rancher: "No. I think the bull did it on purpose."
Report as
That's Awesome :)
Report as
I KNOW this one did... he just had that look in his eye! Probably remembered that I was the one who made him into a steer in the first place!
Report as
lol....yeah, that usually does the trick.
