Why do men need to lift the toilet seat to pee? I mean, there's plenty of room for the stream with the seat down. Isn't that just extra work?

They need to lift the seat because when they are almost done the stream comes out with less pressure, so it falls off (like slowly turning off a hose) as the stream loses pressure and falls off it can "dribble" on the edge of the seat. So they lift the seat (hopefully) to keep the urine from getting on the seat.

It's a two way street. I'd like to see a women stand up to pee and see how good she does. So if a man has to put it up, a women should have to put it down:-)

I don't want pee on my toilet seat, but if you do, just simply tell your man not to lift the toilet seat, I'm sure he will be cool with that.

I don't know... Why don't we think of something to fix this problem? We can design it and make lots of money.

Funny, I was just talking to someone about something else and had a similar idea. How many times do we see new "inventions" and say "why didn't I think of that?" or "I thought of that years ago!!" Seriously, my uncle lives in Florida and attends inventors conventions in Las Vegas, NV with all of his crafty inventions. I can't tell you how many times people (myself included) have laughed at his creations. Well guess what? My uncle is a multi-billionaire... Real talk. He says "Keep laughing!" I certainly don't have the chunk of change that is required to lay down a patent, but if I did, I'd certainly follow through with some of my ideas.

Because when the urine stream slows down it drips on the seat. It is probably my wife's biggest complaint and I ALWAYS lift the seat. Unfortunately my two boys do not lift it!

Because not all men have good aim and if you've ever taken notice, towards the end your urine "drips".

I can't stand it when I go to the bathroom, put the seat down and it turns out one of the housemates missed a bit and hit the floor. Do disgusting to step in urine.

I think it's disgusting that a man would drip on the seat or floor and leave it there. What kind of filthy, disgusting person doesn't clean up after themselves? Seriously, to wipe a drip of urine off the seat or floor is NOT hard and it is NOT any kind of time consuming. I'd hate to see how disgustingly filthy their bedroom and the rest of the house is...No thanks!

Hello, not all men take notice. Yes, it is disgusting but I'd rather the housemates put the seat up so at least I'm not risking that.

It's not that anyone has a "problem" putting the seat up or down, that's not the case here. I just wanted to know why it was necessary to mess with it to begin with.

AMEN! I think one of the most disgusting feelings is to sit on the toilet and feel wetness. Ewwww, that's so nasty I'll get in the shower immediately.
