I sometimes have very sharp and sudden pains in my sides.... Should i be concerned?

It sounds like you are already concerned.

There are so many things that could cause what you are asking about. Some not a big deal and some very serious.

Best thing to do is go see a doctor.

Above is very true it could be your appendix. If your appendix burst time is not on your side please be safe see a dr :)
