You need to concentrate more... it's so easy to just mindlessly put something down ( I know, I do it all the time too) without making a mental note of where you put it. At home, have one or two designated spots where you keep it. When you get done using it, put it where it belongs. When you are out and about, keep it in a pocket, purse or a holster unless you are using it.
Pay attention to what you are doing. Assuming there is nothing wrong with you, it's just a matter of getting in the habit of being more aware of your stuff and your surroundings. Start getting in the habit of checking to be sure your phone (keys, wallet etc.) are with you before you go to another location. It's just practice. You can do it.

I made me several small pouches 6" long,3 inches wide, lined, flap that has 3 large snaps to keep the phone inside the pouch, with about a 26" long FLAT rope that goes around my neck. The pouch is large enough I can CARRY some bills, a couple quarters, drivers license, 1 credit card inside. I wear one ALL THE TIME, except when I shower or sleep-to recharge the battery. I made 4 so I can just throw them in with my clothes washing. I am on a walker so I do not carry a purse anymore, I don't need one with the pouch. Wear it inside my blouse/shirt, no one sees it.
On my phone i use the app "find my iphone" (works for ipods and ipads too) It lets you send sounds to find your phone if its close and if its far you can track it by satelite. This app saved my butt a few times.

Put a snap ring on your purse or belt with a corded elastic line on it and attach it to your cell phone using a double sided foam tape and a plastic ring mounting it on the tape on the Back side.you can get these rings at any ace Hard ware store
This happens to me all the time. Before I leave a place I check for three things ( Phone , Wallet , Keys ) by literally saying them out loud before I leave. If that does not work you can down load a software on IOS or Android if you have a smart phone that will allow you to track your phone by going online. They also have software that you can add that will allow you to send your phone an emergency text that will make your phone respond on the loudest setting even if you have disabled sound. I hope this helps.

Glue it to ur butt,jk, i dunno i do that all the time and nothing helps i also jus wanna say i hav a cheap crapadoddle cell from walmart its a pre paid thing were u keep adding mins every time u run out, IT SOOOOOOO FRWUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!! oh annietot i hav a question ARE YOU SERIOUS???????????
keep it in your pocket or alway keep it in a designated spot or never turn the volume down unless you have to and always keep it charged so if you put it down someone can it call and find it. !hope this helped!
I always lose things, but when you comes to losing something as serious as your wallet or cell phone or ipod, you have yo force urself to check pockets or backpack to be sure its there like every few times a day. Especially when youre out. Keep it somewhere where you ABSOLUTELY know it cant get lost, like your
- down in your tall boots - in a DEEP pants pocket or cargo pants w/ a zip close - in your back pocket so you always feel it there, when you sit down - in a small pocket in your backbag
