Should scientists be allowed to test products intended for human use on animals?

Report as

The animals they are doing these tests on are raised for these purposes, pretty much like how we raise animals for eating purposes. So yes, I think it's OK. It's not like they are performing experiments on endangered species or something.

but still animals are like people!i still think that they shouldn't it's just wrong!

Join up with PETA if you feel that adamant about it. This is what they are all about

@robertgurl: To determine if you truly feel animals are equal to people, imagine that your child and your pet puppy are trapped, side by side, in a burning house and you only have time to save one of them. Which will it be?

And the more important question is: How long did it take for you to arrive at your answer?
Report as
umm obviously my kid....i was working on my project

@robertgurl: Fair enough. But what if it was your pet puppy and some stranger's child? What if it was a bed-ridden elderly person instead of a child? Is there any scenario you could imagine which finds you saving the life of the puppy rather than the life of an innocent human?

Yes. I would much rather have my vaccines, artificial organs, experimental cancer cures tried on a pig, rat, monkey or whatever first, rather than me, Granny or my kids.

but why on ur kids what if they die hen what r u going to do

and thats my question i dont want the animals to get hurt and why do they do that
Report as
g&g :) You are right NL :)

it like makeup animals arent the one going to use it we are so we should get tested
Report as
I don't like it when any creature is needlessly hurt. I like it even less when human beings are needlessly hurt. If a monkey or a human has to risk their life during a medical experiment that might save others in the future, the monkey is going to be the one taking the high risk tests. Obviously animal testing hasn't gone away but it isn't nearly as prevalent as it once was. Cosmetic companies in particular could not take the damage to their sales if they did not find other ways to test their products for safety. Many of them have.
Report as
@robertgurl: I'm not exactly sure what your point was in that last post, but it appears to have something to do with animal testing for cosmetics. Perhaps we agree on that issue. I think such testing is an abuse. But, as is almost always the case, there is a gray area somewhere between animals being sacrificed for human vanity and animals being sacrificed to save human lives. Some people (PETA) see no gray areas--only black and white.

If it comes down to my child dying due to untested drugs or procedures, or a monkey dying to prove the efficacy of that life saving drug or procedure, I would opt for the latter. I don't have to like it, but I would support it.

I don't want someone to test some dangerous stuff on any animals.
Don't think animals are different than humans, they have the same life as us. Animals have a life. I am sure if animals could talk they will definitely say no to these kind of things,I am sure animals want to live. I am not telling humans should take this test but i am sure scientists will come up with a solution for it.

Should scientists be allowed to test products intended for human use on animals?

Animal physiology and human physiology reacting drastically in different manners. Group F The harm of animals testing Don't to buy products which have been tested on animals Animals have their own feelings all of us are pets lover are all the animals happy to be tested? what is your feeling if your personal pet is put through animal testing? why we feel pity to those animals in the short video clips? The cons of animal testing will be : Animals and humans are not biological identical Animals and humans have the different DNA It has proven that over 92% of drugs that claim to pass the animals trial fail when tested on humans We have no right to exploiting them
for our own selfish gains. There is about 1.4 million animals
die each year from animal testing. Animal testing statistics show many creatures lose their lives during the course of experiments. Animal testing are highly in cost The cost of housing, feeding caring
for the animals is quite high. There is also the chance that animal testing can occur more than once on one animal, sometimes over the course of months, which means additional costs are incurred Animal cells are forced to grow abnormally, so that experiments can be carried out to find a remedy With stem cell research and genetics getting a push, animals are subjected to further animal cruelty. It is estimated that more than 100 million animals
fall prey to animal testing every year. Animals testing should be banned as: - Animal physiology reacts in drastically different manners with human physiology.

- Nobody would like to be volunteers for the purpose of testing.

- Animal testing cost a lot of money

- To find a remedy, animal cells are being forced to grow abnormal. Animals are speechless creatures and
one must not take advantage of this fact Scientist should not be allowed
to test products intended for human
use on animals. they have equal right to
live safe and happily!
