Yes, god has given what you have. Thou shall be grateful, the kids in poor countries had suffered and received way more pain way more than you. They still endures it until the very end, so why kill your self when you have food, shelter, money, and luxurious things? I permitted you if your pain is greater than those kids that had suffered.. idiots would commit suicide because of bullies, break ups, and those type of crap that can be resolved if there weren't that stupid.
The Bible doesn't say that suicide is a sin. The idea that it is self murder is a contrived definition which does not fit in with the traditional definition. Most people who commit suicide are suffering from some sort of mental illness like severe depression.
That having been said, a Christian is supposed to have the Lord in charge of their life and if someone decides that they can't handle this life and they are going to end it prematurely, then they are basically "impeaching" the Lord and putting them self in charge of their destiny instead of trusting Him to see them through till He calls them home.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

not in all cultures or religions.....with some peoples it is considered the honorable thing to do in certain situations....and for people suffering a terminal and painful sickness it is the only way to end their pain and pass with some dignity....some folks think there is no one or nothing to live for and can't go on.......having said that, to just take your life because you aren't happy or don't like your life at the moment is, imho, the cowards way out....as long as you are breathing then there is always hope
Suicide is a seriously sinful. Human life is a precious gift of God. Suicide contradicts the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate life. It is gravely contrary to the just love of self, according to the Catechism. One who freely chooses to commit suicide with sufficient reflection and deliberation, knowing it to be seriously sinful, sins mortally. Even so, many (if not most) people who commit suicide may not freely be doing something they understand to be sinful. This makes it a venial sin, which does not land one in hell. If one dies unrepentant of mortal sin, he or she will immediately go to hell. Severe psychological factors may be involved in the situation. These can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide. (My answer continues in the comments)
If you are having these thoughts ring life line, they will help you,and don't know if its a sin,but its very cruel to the people you leave behind. For ex,your parents, and all who love and care for you, there is always help, ask for it,and please don't do it.
Yes, because God created us to be His valuable children, and we have a very valuable life. If we just waste it by committing suicide, that is considered one of the greatest sins that will get you to Hell, even if you already believe.

Need help? In the U.S., call 1-800-273-8255 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
My answer probably won't get read due to the fact that it is so far down the list but I'll give it a go anyway. The bible never indicates that suicide is a sin let alone a sin worthy of eternal punishment. And it is certainly not an unforgivable sin.
The only unforgivable sin in the bible is blasphemy against the holy spirit; LUKE 12:10, "And everyone that says a word against the Son of Man, that will be forgiven; But he that blasphemes against The Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. *Samson (also known as Sampson) one of the most notable heroes of God committed suicide. (See comments section for Bible reference; Judges 16: 25-30)
Yes; if killing someone else is a sin then why wouldn't killing yourself? You are still ending life and you are still destroying one of God's greatest creations here on earth.
If you want to look at it on another level altogether (spiritual stuff aside), it's a horrible thing to do; everyone has a long life to live if they opt for it and when you commit suicide you lose everything you could have had.
If you're going through a hard time then it can be difficult to move on, but when you think about all the experiences you could have and all of the life you could live, why would you do it?
This is my honest answer, I don't know why you're asking the question, but there was a time when I was considering it and thinking about the future helped me to move on. :)

i know everyone says its a sin. but honestly, what kind of loving god would send someone to hell who was in so much pain that they would resort to that? thats not the kind of god i choose to believe in, if thats who god is, he doesnt deserve my belief
Yes. It's called murder. Thou shall not murder. It's in the top ten ! Not worth it. Suicide, Abortion, Murder, Homicide, Genocide. It's all the same thing. Murder. Life is a gift from God. Don't insult him by returning it.
Thou shalt not kill! Everyone pretty much summed it up! dont do it. there are people who care about u. Maybe not on earth but in heaven, god cares for u and it makes him sad that one of his children would take what he graciously gave u out of the goodness of his heart.
There are several scriptures in the bible that tell us that we should not murder. Exodus 20:13-“You must not murder." Even in the Gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus says: "You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder." We all have times in our lives when we get extremely down, maybe even to the point where we wish our life would end. I know because I've experienced it in the worst way. God would never want us to end the precious life He gave us no matter how difficult life may get. Things always get better in time. Then you'll appreciate life a whole lot more.
You may think you have no worth and that it does not matter if you exist or not, but this is not true. You matter very much, to god, to me and to everyone who has read this question. But more than that, you and every person alive are important to god and to the world.
Ask yourself what is the purpose of your life. Find what great blessing you have to bring to the world, through the lessons learned through your suffering. Finding your divine purpose will give you a true sense of self worth, a feeling of wholeness and the peace you are seeking. Take care & god bless! : D
Killing yourself is a very bad thing to do; however, I feel that most people that do it are mentally ill in some way. I believe dying because of complications from mental illness is no different than dying of cancer, diabetes, heart disease or any other natural cause. People don't understand brain problems and often answer with a quick yes that it is a sin or they are crazy. I would not be quick to judge. That is between the poor soul who is suffering and ultimately kills themselves and their God.
