What is it called when you have a tragic accident and wake up with an unknown ability?

I've seen shows where someone has an accident of some sort and wakes up with an unknown ability they never had, i.e. speaking other languages, becoming a painter, or anything else. I want to try and find out more if anyone knows.

I dunno about ability, but there's "foreign accent syndrome" here:

I myself once hit my head, after drinking too much, and woke up with a shrill woman's voice in my ear that I just couldn't shake. Turns out it got fainter the further away I got from my wife.
