Unless you are brushing really hard and scraping off your gum tissue, you can't brush your teeth too much. There is no "yellow part" of teeth. If anything is going to get yellow, it's the part you brush, and that won't happen if you're brushing regularly. Don't forget to floss, too.
Yes, you can. What usually happens is that your gums get sore or they start to recede which makes your teeth look longer and the yellow part of the tooth will show more. Expression "long in the tooth" is used to describe older people.
