a flea is small and hops and hard to squish - a bed bug is flat and brown almond shape full grow and you can squish them -- talk to me -- whats up ? are you getting chew up alive while you sleep ? do you wake up in the morning chewed up ? fleas jump on you bite and jump off -- bed bugs inject a numbing fluid so you dont know their biting and they feed on your blood for 10 mins. -- you will see signs of blood dots if you have bed bugs - fleas bite all the time and bed bugs Usually wait till you go to sleep unless your over run with them and then they will crawl and bite anytime .-- bed bugs like warmth and will also get in electronics -- fleas make a bite or two - bed bugs chew you up and the bites spread and the spread is mistaken as poison ivey /oak . i am on stand by .
Fleas are small, black, and they jump, unless they are dead. Bed bugs are small brown, and reclusive (they like to hide). They are much harder to spot. Usually in the corners of your bed, or between the mattresses, and between the bed, and headboard/wall. They also leave black spots, and streaks behind which is their feces.
The difference between a flea and a bedbug is that, fleas are a small black hopping insect with a complete metamorphosis, where as a bed bug is oval in shape, wingless, and rusty red or mahogany in color with a flattened body. A bed bug can take six times human blood than its weight during a nighttime feeding. Check out http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/fleas-identification-biology-a-174.html for more details.
