How are stored calories used by the body. (Scientifically, please don't just say your body uses them when you exercise.)

Your metabolic rate(rate at which calories are burned when you are at rest) burns at different rates for different people. If you have not eaten(taken in calories) then your body will burn stored calories. If you eat less than what is required for your metabolic rate per day and less than what your excess metabolic needs(anything that you do that day above rest) then your body will also burn stored calories. If you eat more calories than your metabolic rate and metabolic needs then you will store more calories in your fat cells and other cells(muscle cells) as fat or carbs. Carbs are usually used first out of your muscles before fat is used through the Kreb Cycle.(the way calories are burned during exercise)
