I'm getting divorced, & her Attrny really wants me to sign this FL-141 form. I don't have an Attrny, & I don't feel good about signing it?

Her Attrny even filled the form out for me & told me he would file it for me too. Does this sound right?

Is there any way you two can work together with the attorney? Its not uncommon to have one attorney represent you both?

found this on the web. look mandatory:

Yes the FL-141 or Declaration Regarding Service of Declaration of Disclosure is a mandatory form. In it you swear to the court that you have served your Preliminary and/or your Final Declaration of Disclosure. This is a packet of forms consiting of the Declaration of Disclosure Cover sheet the FL-140, a Schedule of Assets and Debts or FL-142 and an Income and Expense Declaration, or FL-150. All of these forms must be served with every Preliminary Declaration of Disclosure and this package as a whole must be served in every, divorce, legal separtion or nulity. In addition if you are preparing for a trial on the matter you must serve a Final Declaration of Disclosure at least 45 days before the trial. The Final Declaration of Disclosure contains the same three forms mentioned above along with some other information. The Final Declaration of Disclosure serves to update and complete the information in the Preliminary Declaration of Disclosure. However this is generally only done if parties are preparing for trial. If you have reached a settlement you will waive the Final Declaration of Disclosure, by both parties signing a FL-144 or Stipulation and Waiver of Final Declaration of Disclosure. If the other side is not appearing then you would check the appropriate box on your FL-141 and in your other default judgment paperwork.

That seems really weird to me. Have you read the paper at all, or even know what a FL-141 form is? Maybe you should research it and see what you find out about it. And then go from there.

The Fl-141 in California is mandatory both parties fill out. It is a financial disclosure. Section 2100 California family code et. Seq. sets out what must be disclosed. There is no way not filling it out.

I agree but the family law code requires it with no exceptions. I was fleeced when my with left me even tho we had joint physical and legal custody also 50% of the time he was with me and equal time with her. I was giving her almost 40% of my income so she ended up with a nicer place than me and even was able to buy a house thanks to the child support as I had to live in an apartment. It was so she could live like we use to and provide a place like we had to my son even tho I had him just as much time. Doesn't make sense to me at all
