How do you keep a fresh tattoo from getting infected?

my friend mike just got a tattoo of a bloody black rose rapping around a skull with a crack. its beast mode but hes worried it might get infected. what can he do to keep it from that? P.S. he wants ideas of a new tattoo…any suggestions? :)

1. Remove bandage after 2 hours.
2. Wash with warm water and mild soap. Do not re-bandage tattoo.
3. Apply a thin coat of ointment. Repeat three to four times a day.
4. Do not pick at scabs or dried skin while tattoo is healing.
5. Your tattoo should heal within two weeks.
6. Keep tattoo away from sun and other irritants.

Make sure he washes it and tell him to use Bepanthen Antiseptic Cream. It works wonders on fresh tattoos! :)

Apply some triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporin or the generic) over the tattoo after washing it gently with mild soap and warm water. Depending on what your tattooist told you, apply a bandage, or not.
