Actually, you can love someone but not be in love. You can show someone you care about them and show them love, with out being "IN LOVE" Really, I love my BFF Kaitlin, but I am not in Love with her! That would be crazy! L. o. L.
Absolutely....you can stop being in love but still love someone. I loved a man for 7 years but then it took a turn and I still love him as a friend and would do anything for him and he would for me also.
It is very common to fall out of love with your partner after many years but still love them deeply. It is the "romantic love" that you are falling out of love with but the "other love" is the most important lasting love. It consists of mutual trust, respect, friendship, loyalty, being able to love unconditionally, knowing that you will be there for each other. If you have that then you have everything and it is very possible with a little time and communication about trying to recapture that spark that you can fall in love all over again. Been there... done that!!!
