My nephew always posts things like he wants to die on facebook is this normal for a 15 year old to do. If not what should I do or say to him

A 15 yr old boy saying he wants to die is VERY serious. Tell his parents now and get him some help. You will probably save his life.

If your nephew is posting he wants to die then you should step in. Tell his parents, talk to him, get him some help. He is crying for help and if he doesn't get it then he may just do something drastic.

Maybe he wants to die. Maybe he is playing around. Just ask him.

Many kids are over dramatic at that age, but he may just be looking for somone to notice as well.. My advice: ask him straight out one on one what he thinks of suicide and take it from there..

I would speak to his parents and have them make arrangements to take the kid to counselling immediately - LIKE TODAY

You don't want to take a chance that they are serious.

It is NOT normal behaviour since we were all 15 at one time or another and I don't know of anyone I know wanting to kill themselves

A real suicidal person doesn't make it known to everyone on facebook. They just go and do it. If you are close to him, ask him. Maybe he's lonely and he needs someone to talk to him. He needs some attention.

It can be: loneliness, depression, rejection, not being understood, things not going his way, or something drastic that has happened to him. What you need to do is either find out what is wrong from the friends he trusts most, or find out from him what's really wrong. Don't take drastic measures yet as he might disagree with it and end up doing something bad. Take your time as well. Don't push him or rush into it. Take your time to understand your nephew for who he really is. Only then you'll be able to help him. I know how it feels. I used to be like that when I was 16 due to loneliness.
