Why did they cancel shows like "Chowder" and "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" on Cartoon Network?

I liked those shows. :|

They wanted to move on to shows like Adventure Time and Regular show, and those other shows nobody watches

I'm not sure, but based on how "Invader ZIM" go cancelled, I'm guessing that it had some inappropriate content.

tones of shows have been cancelled, some shows dont even get to years like the replacements, hi hi puffy omi yumi show, among others

there have been other shows cancelled too, after a good long run like kim possible, recess, brandy and mr.hiskers, fosters home for imaginary friends, rugrates, hey arnold, all grown up, the jetsons, the wild thorn berries, ren and stimpy, flinstones, blues clues, clifar the big red dog, teenage mutant ninja turtles, and totaly spies to name 1% of cartoons that were some what successfull.

I miss them. But I have Boomerang channel. So I could watch those shows if I wanted to. I just wish they had kept them on Cartoon Network so new episodes would be available. :c

i know the reason on a couple of them, I know Recess was due to aging voice cast *they could have gotten more but why? it would ruin the show* same thing with the jetsons and the other older cartoons. Fosters cancelled due to Lauren Faust starting a new project MLP:FIM (for one of a few reasons on the cancellation of the show), all grown up was a complete flop and ended the reign of Rugrats, Cliffard is a PBS cartoon (or at least the newer one) and like most PBS shows they have a short lived reign of on-air time. and Ren and Stimpy tried to make a comeback not that long ago (maybe a year tops) but was done by a different director and was targeted towards a more 'adult' audience, needless to say the new season never finished. It's like KFCMan said, alot of good cartoons were cut short by the broadcasting companies, where as others were more tragic, being death of a voice *Courage, Samurai Jack* are a couple among many. There are many reasons on why these shows were cancelled too many to go through them all but I hope this somewhat helpful as to a few reasons on just a small part of the 1%.

idk i loved those shows but i also loved grimm adventures of billy & mandy to!! XD idk why they did it..maybe because they realized tht those shows had a more awesome time then they did... lol

Just like the other shows got canceled. They were either inappropriate, didn't get enough viewers, Cartoon Network didn't have the money to keep it going, the people who control Cartoon Network didn't like the storyline, etc. There could be many reasons. Hope I helped :)
ps- I loved those shows from the nineties and the older cartoons like that :) I miss them so much!!

i know how you feel. Those were and are still my favorite shows from cartoon network. They were cancelled because first of all the network thought they were a bad influence for younger children and made the cartoonists and writers stop making new episodes. I miss those shows so much :(
